Frequently Asked Questions

And the answers.

What do I wear?

Something comfortable, for sure.  We will be demonstrating CPR skills on manikins on the floor. Out of consideration for others in the class, please do not wear perfumes or colognes.

How do I claim my BLS card?

All cards are issued electronically from the AHA directly. Within 3 business days of completing a course, you will receive an email from ecards@heart.org with a link to claim your e-card.  You may also text “ecard” to 51736, if the mobile number you’re texting from is linked to your registration and you will receive a reply text with a link to claim your e-card.

When does my certification expire?

Course completion cards are valid for two years-through the end of the month in which it was issued.  For example: if you took a course on January 17th 2025, then your certification is good through the end of January of 2027.

Cancellation policy?

To secure instructor ratios and student roster spots, class seats are limited. If your schedule changes and you need to adjust your enrollment, the following timeline applies:

  • More than 36 hours before class: You may cancel for a refund to your original payment method, minus a 4% registration recovery fee. (Because credit card processors do not refund merchant transaction fees when a refund occurs, this fee strictly covers our non-recoverable banking costs). Alternatively, we will apply your registration fee toward a future class with zero fees applied, if requested.

  • Between 36 and 24 hours before class: Because roster slots and staffing are locked at 36 hours out, You will receive a 50% refund of the total price of a course. Any deposit paid is non-refundable, and the 4% recovery fee does not apply to this tier.

  • Within 24 hours of class start time: No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellations, late arrivals, or no-shows, as instructor staffing and equipment ratios have already been finalized.

*Rarely, classes will need to be canceled or rescheduled based on a low census. We do understand the inconvenience this may cause, and do keep these instances to a minimum. Foothills CPR will let students know of these situations as early as possible, and provide options.

Do I need a book?

The AHA requires each student enrolled in a BLS or more advanced course to have access to a provider’s manual.  One can be purchased from us, borrowed from us, or if you prefer an electronic version, those can be purchased through the AHA- https://shopcpr.heart.org/bls-provider-manual-ebook. A free version can be found here: https://www.scribd.com/document/1018515532/Basic-Life-Support-Provider-Manual-American-Heart-Association-2025

If you’re renewing your certification, you might already have the book.  Please contact us before purchasing if there are any questions at all.

I have a group of people. Do you do on-site training?

Absolutely! We can train at an office, church, school-pretty much anywhere! For groups of 4 or more, please call us at 720.822.2664, or email info@fhcpr.com

I/We are registered for the New Parent CPR class. Can we bring our little one? What is your policy?

A: We love that this class is all about your new little one — but for a few reasons, we ask that you leave them with a caregiver if at all possible.

  • Infants under 2 months: Because very young babies have more developing immune systems and the class involves close contact with other families, we strongly prefer that infants under 2 months not attend.

  • Toddlers: We know toddlers are curious! But since class time involves hands-on practice around training equipment, an active toddler can be a distraction for other parents and, more importantly, at risk of getting bumped or stepped on. So we kindly ask that toddlers sit this one out too.

  • Older infants are usually welcome; even if they get “fussy”, we do understand that babies are going to be babies.

If you're not able to arrange childcare, just reach out to us at info@fhcpr.com or 720.822.2664 before class and we'll help you find the best option — whether that's a different class date or another option.
